Enquire NowHere we have a real barn find gem, this machine is believed to have been unused since 1955 when the last tax disc expired! (still displayed on the bike)
The bike comes with a buff log book showing it to be first registered in September 1948, this is presumably when it was released from military service, the true year of manufacture is 1941 when it was produced under contract number C11081, our research indicates this was the 2117th machine produced in this contract & it's military serial number would have been C07718, the engine was produced in March 1942 under contract C13869 so at some stage the engine was renewed during its military service.
We have taken great care not to clean up, meddle or touch the bike so please be assured that you are buying exactly what you see.
The bike appears very complete and retains many of its military features as well as the specification that an early production machine should have, for example; steering damper, no fork check springs and albion gearbox.
The Enfield would surely be a restorers dream and is one of the rarer British Military motorcycles making it a most worthwhile restoration project. Please study the photos as they are a far more accurate way of determining the condition, however in essence the machine has survived well considering 70 years of indoor storage, gears appear to select but the engine appears to be seized presumably due to 70 years of sitting unused.
As well as a buff log book we have a V5C. It retains its original 1948 registration number JYV472 which is transferable.
