1978 MG BGT presented in British racing green with contrasting black/green interior. This lovely example has had just one long term owner since 1992.
When purchased in 1992 the car was treated to a comprehensive restoration [photo album included] and still remains in very presentable condition which must surely be testament to the integrity of work carried out as it has only been maintained since. The car is mainly presented in standard format save for a few items such as the seats having been re-trimmed in leathercloth and a high quality sunroof.
The car presents very well and can best be described as "smart" looking, the bodywork and underside being very sound and solid having not required any structural attention since restoration all those years ago. The paintwork generally presents well and has a great shine and general finish but does show the odd age related marks. Such as the rear of the bonnet and wiper scuttle which if touched up would further elevate close inspection.
Mechanically the car has recently had the braking system overhauled as well as a new radiator and hoses and a general service. The car really does drive well and performs almost above expectations of a standard car, it is fitted with overdrive which works well.
Recently fitted new parts noted:
*Front brake calipers and hoses
*Clutch slave cylinder
*Rear brake wheel cylinders and brake pipes
*Mud flaps all round
*Radiator and silicone hoses
Clutch is good, gearbox smooth, steering precise and braking system very good.
In summary, if you are looking for a sound, solid smart looking MGB GT that drives well reasonably priced with scope for a little tinkering you could do much worse than look at this example, it was restored almost 34 years ago but defies the time period and is testimony to having been cared for
